Michael Epler, better known as PilotRedSun (stylized as pilotredsun under his music), is an animator and musician from San Jose, California. He is currently 26 years old.

On December 21, 2012, PilotRedSun uploaded his first (known) YouTube video, entitled "What's for Dinner?". The 21 second long video features a man approaching a chef and asking "Hey, Chef! What's for dinner?". The chef responds: "Slop! Slime!" The video finishes with the text "What Ever A Meal One Can Make With A Slop Or A Slime? ? ?" dancing on the screen.

On April 4, 2013, PilotRedSun uploaded "Garfielf". In the video, which is one minute and nine seconds, we see Jon Arbuckle from the comic strip "Garfield" yelling at his cat, Garfield, as he performs different mischievous actions such as eating too much and kicking their dog Odie off the table. This video would become PilotRedSun's most popular video, garnering over 9 million views. Unlike other videos on the channel, the music featured in "Garfielf" was not created by PilotRedSun, rather, it was created by Begnagrad.

PilotRedSun would later go on to release a popular album entitled 'Achievement' after gaining a cult following, and using his animated videos as a means of showcasing his upcoming music.
